Manufacturing and Shipping Update!

Hi,

We have been busy making sure we keep our aim of shipping your rewards on time that we need to do one big update! Apologies in advance for the amount of scrolling!

Summary

For those of you not wanting to scroll too far, in short everything is on track. We will be locking down shipping addresses in the next couple of days and we start shipping next month!

Manufacturing

We want you to see what we have been up to, so here are some pictures of the manufacturing process of the MiStand+:

Each MiStand+ is CNC machined from a pieces of extruded aluminium.

Each MiStand+ is then hand polished before being sent for glass bead blasting and anodising.

After glass bead blasting (exactly what it sounds like!) the MiStand+ goes through anodising, the process give us the different colour choices (Black, Silver, Gold and Space Grey). You can read more about the process here.

Each MiStand+ is then inspected to ensure a great finish and the magetic components are added.

Polyurethane pads are then attached to the base and plate components before being put into the final packaging.

We will keep the box as a small surprise! 

Shipping Update

So many of you will be thinking "this sounds great but, when do I get my reward?", well we know how important it is to be onto time and so the short answer is we start shipping November rewards in November! We will be locking down shipping addresses in the coming days and will begin preparing for shipment, we are hoping to despatch the first batch in the second half of November. We will post another update once shipping commences and another when shipping ends, so please don't worry if you haven't had confirmation shortly after shipping starts.

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that Wednesday 14th October 2015 is the “last” day to make final updates (rewards and add-ons) to your order! (Please note shipping address can be changed at a later date)

Thanks again for being so responsive to filling out our BackerKit survey, you have no idea how tremendously helpful this will be for us when trying to keep track of all 1025 of you!

BackerKit Surveys & Manufacturing Update!

It has been a busy 14 days since the campaign ended! We wanted to send out our first proper post campaign update, so here goes...

Surveys!

We will be sending an email with a special link to BackerKit surveys over the next few days. It is important that when you receive the survey, you get it back to us as quickly as you can. Our ability to make an order depends on receiving this information. Filling out your BackerKit survey is not required, but will help out our project tremendously, and help us get your rewards out to you quicker. 

You do not need to create a login and password to fill out your survey, just fill it out and you’re all good to go!

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can do so by inputting your email at mistandplus.backerkit.com.

In the BackerKit survey, please answer any questions we may have regarding your pledge, provide shipping information, pay for international shipping if you forgot, and if you want you can even order more items or “add-ons”. You do not have access to this link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

If you’ve decided later that you filled out something wrong in the survey, you can go back and change it anytime before we announce the cut off date for changes.

If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email you prefer it to be sent to, please visit mistandplus.backerkit.com/faq and contact the support team.

Manufacturing!

As you know due to the success of the campaign we were able to start some of the processes earlier than we planned, our aluminium supplier has delivered the first batch of MiStand+ extrusions! Here is a picture before any machining takes place:

In short, this means everything is on track! We will be posting more updates of the manufacturing process as we progress.

To ensure we can get you your reward on time we really need to get your survey responses as soon as possible.

Hi Amazing Backers!

Thanks for making our project a reality and such a success! Without you, this wouldn't be possible.

In order to get your rewards into your hands, a few things need to happen.

First, Kickstarter needs to transfer the funds so we have the money to make the orders (this can take up to 2 weeks). Kickstarter should begin the process of charging the cards registered to your account as soon as the campaign ends.

Second, we have to find out what colour MiStand+'s and MiStand minis (so we can get the correct quantities manufactured) and where we need to ship them. We will be sending our BackerKit survey out to collect this information after the 2 weeks (recommended by Kickstarter).

We will give you a heads up before we send the survey so you can watch for it. It is important that when you receive the survey, you get it back to us as quickly as you can. Our ability to make an order depends on receiving this information.

You do not need to make a login and password to fill out your survey, just fill it out and you’re all good to go! If you want to go back to review your info, just click on the link in your email again or input your email into our project page for another survey link.

Filling out BackerKit will help out our project tremendously, and help us get your rewards out to you quicker! If you do not wish to use BackerKit then please contact us on Kickstarter.

If you used Facebook to login to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email you prefer it to be sent to, please message me.

Hi,

Just a quick update, a number of backers has sent messages and left comments that they would like to see a 24K MiStand mini well, here you go...

24K MiStand mini!

The 24K MiStand mini has the same finish as the 24K MiStand+. The amazing finish involves two stages of polishing followed by electroless nickel plating and gold immersion. (See update #6 for the 24K MiStand+)
